2 American Nationals Lose 830,000 Pesos to ‘Salisi Gang’ In Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA - Two American nationals were were robbed of more than 830,000 pesos at their home in Barangay Anunas on June 6th.

Police believe the two foreigners were robbed by the Salisi Gang - in a police report, 68-year-old Edward McCarthy and 31-year-old Dailyn Butas residing at 63rd St. in Villasol Subdivision left on June 4th to take the Edward to the hospital for knee surgery.

Both said they secured the lock at the front door and house gate, but on their return back from the hospital two days later, they discovered the house sitting open.

Inside the home they found the cabinet and McCarthy’s safety box opened - McCarthy told police that the box contained 70,000 pesos, 500 British pounds, and $5,100 U.S. dollars.

The box also contained two gold ring with diamonds worth $2,500, and two watches worth $400.

In a spare room of Dailyn's brother who is away in Japan, they also found his safety box opened and the $700 U.S. dollars inside missing.

Police say the residence showed no signs of forced entry.
